The BFS Combined Beat The Computer/ Athletic Achievement System for Windows Release Notes -- Current Version is 4.12 -- Released Jun-17-2005 .exe dated Jun-17-2005 Date Version # Description -------- --------- --------------------------------------------------- 06-16-05 4.12 Bug Fix - Updating any lift caused the internal lift number to change, which could mean scores for that lift could be lost. This started with the previous release, 4.11. On some of the supplied Workouts added in the last release, one of the Lifts had a bad name. Calling the Workout up on the screen and clicking OK would fix it. A few of the buttons on the Workout screen were slightly mis-aligned. Some of the drop-down lists for selecting positions on the Athlete window were popping up in the wrong place on the screen. When entering a new athlete, if you went to the parents tab, sometimes a name already appeared. There were some extra fields listed on the Browse Users window that are not used in this program. New Features: Add a link to the new Tutorial on the Help menu in the program, and on the Program Menu under BFS. During the installation, any existing data will be copied to a backup folder. After installation, you have the option of running the new Tutorial immediately. The default workout information for the Sport Codes shipped with the system have been updated to better reflect the new workouts available. 11-15-04 4.11 Several new Features: New BFS custom workouts & lifts for each major sport can be loaded during installation. When printing Top 10 reports, you can chose the standard reports or the new "Certificate" style reports which print in Landscape mode with nice borders, etc. When printing the Pre-Workout test sheets, you can choose to print the forms for your existing athletes with their personal info all filled in, or you can choose to print a new version which has spaces for the atheltes to fill in their personal info. Printing these "empty" sheets and passing them out is simple way to collect your athletes personal info so you can enter everything into the computer at one time, personal info and scores. New button on the Toolbar to go directly to the Bigger Faster Stronger website. 09-18-04 4.10 Bug Fix - The Default BFS Workout was not being installed. This was caused by an error in the install script when changes were made in preparation for the new default workouts in the previous release. 08-20-04 4.09 Bug Fix - The drop down lists for Position Codes on the Athlete Information window were always coming up blank. You could enter a position code manually, but couldn't select from the list. Bug Fix - The Top 10 reports for the timed events (40 yard dash, 20 yard dash, Dot Drill) may not have worked correctly depending on how you entered the athlete's scores. Some athlete's were skipped and not shown. Minor changes in report headings/footings to show the Bigger Faster Stronger name and website. 05-10-04 4.08 Re-compiled to correct errors in the templates. During the last release, two program templets were older versions, which caused the QBE (Athlete Search) button not to work, and displayed an error message when backing up that the LSZip version was unregistered. 04-07-04 4.07 Bug fix - File error when printing labels that kicked you out of program. Bug fix - All time top 10 report. If you deleted any score for any graduated athlete the rest of graduated athletes no longer appeared. This fix changes the behavior of the report. Previously only the most recent score for any one athlete would appear on this report. Now the top 10 scores will appear whether or not they are the most recent. 11-24-03 4.06 Changed the default backup drive to A, and the backup path to \. Some customers were seeing an odd path, such as \A\, and had to change it the first time they ran backup after installing. 11-21-03 4.06 Bug fixes - Sometimes the wrong splash screen would be shown during startup. For example, the Athletic Achievement splash screen might show instead of the Beat the Computer splash screen. The Help|About always displayed the correct version, however. When entering scores, if the " " checkbox was ever checked, it couldn't be unchecked. This shouldn't normally cause a problem because the system used the score with the most recent date AND the checkbox to determine which score to use to calualte the workout, but it was annoying and could sometimes cause problems when entering scores for "record keeping" purposes. On fields with the down-arrow icon, pressing the down arrow key will now display the list to choose from. Previously you had to click the down arrow icon to drop the list down. 11-04-03 4.05 Bug fixes & Misc for Athletic Achievement functions. Verticle Jump for men was always ranked as Elite. For Men 6'3" or over and 200 lbs. or less, ranking for the 4 BFS core lifts was always Elite. For Women 5'9" or over and 150 lbs. or less, ranking for the 4 BFS core lifts was always Elite. If the Athlete grade was C1 to C4 (college) rankings may not have been correct. Added a utility to manage scores for graduated athletes to allow changing or deleting All Time Top 10 scores if the athlete was deleted during Year End Processing. Previously there was no way to change or delete a score that qualified as All Time Top 10 if the athlete had been deleted. 10-30-03 4.04 Bug fix- When printing the Ironman/Power Ranking report, the numeric ranking (1st, 15th, 22nd, etc) may not have printed for the Squat (lift #1, shipped with the system, and always the first lift to appear on the Ironman/Power ranking report. Made the version number easier to see on the Help | About.. windows. 10-22-03 4.03 Bug fix- Search Button on the Athlete Browse was not working. 10-20-03 4.02 Bug fix- Under some conditions the Top10 report could not be stared from tool bar,but it could be stared from reports menu. 10-15-03 4.01 Change to accomodate converting older versions. When starting the program, we check for missing lifts or events. In ver 3.xx, if one of the 22 lifts and events shipped with the system had been deleted by the user, it would be restored. But if it had been changed by the user to a different description, it wasn't always restored to the default. Now it is. In Ver 3.xx, a bad lift could cause a Windows error when trying to print the Pre-Workout Test report. This is now fixed. 10-10-03 4.00 Full release. One or two spelling changes, and options in the install for Non-password/Password versions. When using the Password version, the default User ID and Password are BFS and BFS. These should be changed or deleted as soon as possible, and User IDs and Passwords for actual users should be set up.
